Buffalo Zine is a cult biannual magazine exploring the margins of style since 2010. Each issue has taken a different form —a cookbook, a mail order catalogue, an interiors magazine, a children’s book— tracing how fashion moves through other worlds. Along the way, Buffalo has used these disguises to test what fashion can hold and how it can be seen.

Now, Buffalo focuses on looking from the inside out. On people who live fashion rather than perform it. Presence over profile. No celebrity, no spectacle. What’s shown here belongs to the world we inhabit — the one often unseen, yet most real. Buffalo stands for what’s missing in fashion today: a space where what is enough, simply, is finally seen.

AWARDS

Buffalo Zine was awarded a D&AD pencil for its inaugural issue, and has continued to win pencils for most of its issues in the Magazine & Newspaper Design and Magazine Front Covers categories until today. Winning a D&AD pencil remains the pinnacle of many careers and the work it celebrates inspires others to study, debate, copy and reference the industry’s finest designers.

In 2017, Buffalo Zine was awarded “Magazine of the year” in the Stack Awards, beating out over 400 independent titles, with judge Jeremy Leslie describing it as “unlike anything else being done today.” In 2019, it was voted by the Stack Awards judges and Twitter “Indie fashion magazine of the decade” with 72.9% of the votes in the final round.
